Panama Canal Authority Approves the MPS566 Pilot - Precision Piloting System

We are excited to announce the approval of the MPS566 Pilot system for use by vessels in the Panama canal. The system has been designed for permanent installation on a ship for faster and safer precise docking and pilotage.

WTE has worked with Trimble to produce this compliant precision piloting system. The system has built on Trimble's wealth of precision positioning solutions and our experience with AIS receiver hardware systems.   

The MPS566 Pilot system is compliant with the Panama Canal Authority (ACP) directive for safe navigation of vessels through the Panama canal, offering centimetric position and heading with minimal setup time.  For more information on the system and benefits, click here.

MPS566 Pilot Evaluated and Approved Solution

 The final system provides a battery backed precision solution that allows 3D centimetre level positioning and meets the mandatory requirements for vessels passing through the Panama Canal.
