UHF and Swarm Satellite Solution Presented at Comms Connect 2022
Comms Connect is the largest radio communications conference in the southern hemisphere. This year, the conference was held at Te Pae, the recently opened conference center in Christchurch, New Zealand.
WTE was very happy to accept the opportunity to speak this year. Gary Chisholm, WTE's marketing manager, presented our remote swarm satellite monitoring solution that was installed and has been in use for rat trapping, on Pomona Island. This solution uses a network of MReX-ULP low power repeaters and transmitters to provide coverage over an island without network coverage. Gary presented how we used the Swarm satellite network to upload data through our MReX-SWARM IoT Gateway, and the redundant data path we offered through our MReX transmitters directly back to a TReX-460 receiver, 13km away.
Swarm Satellite Solution
The following Swarm Satellite solution was presented. The MReX-SWARM allowed collecting of data from all remote IoT sensors and repeaters. Low power was achieved, and low system costs by storing multiple messages, and transmitting data in compressed blocks. Redundant path data download was possible through a radio link to a TReX that was network connected - allowing for immediate notification of trap events.
