MT-RX-4 DSC, AIS, 406 + 121.5/243 MHz ALERTING RECEIVER
Product Summary
The updated WTE MT-RX-4 is a multi-band receiver with Ethernet, serial (RS232 plus RS485/RS422), and USB connectivity. It is designed to decode emergency signals and provide alerts to help locate the source of a transmission for early rescue.
The MT-RX-4 can be used as a 121.5 MHz / AIS / DSC / 406 MHz monitoring receiver to meet IMO Circular 1039 (3.3) requirements for EPIRB shore-based maintenance providers. It provides an early alert in the event of an accidental activation outside a shielded test room. The MT-RX-4 replaces the previous MT-RX-3.
For a portable 406 / DSC / AIS decoder, see the WTE-BT-01.

- The updated design provides outstanding sensitivity of -123 dBm for AIS and -122 dBm for 406 MHz.
Product Description
The WTE MT-RX-4 uses multiple DSP technologies and is the only alerting receiver that simultaneously receives and decodes all currently used 406 MHz frequencies, DSC distress transmissions, both AIS channels, and 121.5/243 MHz signals. MT-RX receivers use several independent receivers and advanced digital methods to deliver excellent sensitivity and strong rejection of unwanted signals.
The MT-RX-4 has been designed to decode emergency signals and provide alerts that help users locate the source of a transmission for early rescue.
MT-RX receivers contain an internal sounder for raising alerts and can also provide voice prompts to guide users to targets. Relay output control can be used for additional alerts, and the serial interfaces allow integration with PC mapping software or navigation equipment. The clear graphic display provides a complete stand-alone system without the need for external connections other than power, or a single USB connection. This makes it ideal for recreational man-overboard alerting.
Decoded 406 transmissions are displayed on screen, including information drawn from pre-loaded databases that identify beacon type and manufacturer.
Standard AIS receiver functions are also included, allowing AIS serial output to be used for mapping and chart-plotting applications.
Decoded DSC messages are provided as clear NMEA sentences.
Simultaneous monitoring and alerting of 406, DSC, AIS, and 121.5 MHz man-overboard technologies make the MT-RX-4 an ideal distress monitoring receiver.
Applications / Capability
The MT-RX-4 has been developed to provide alerting and simple location indication for:
Rescue Beacon Transmission Decoding and Alerts
Alerts are clear and persistent until acknowledged, with full control over sounder and relay operation. When a GPS source is provided, the distance and direction to the target can be displayed. Patented 406 selective database features allow 406 PLBs to be used for locally managed vessel rescue without the need to alert national search and rescue agencies.
This is not an antenna-based direction finder; the transmission source must contain GPS information. External directional antennas may be connected, and the signal strength screen can be used to help determine the direction of the transmission source if required.
